Common mistakes
You wedge the hips so close to the wall that tight hamstrings tug your lower back off the floor.
You keep the legs actively tense instead of letting them rest on the wall.
You treat it as a stretch to push into rather than a recovery position to dissolve into.
What to focus on
Scoot back until the lower back rests flat and the legs can be completely passive — that distance is personal.
Try a folded blanket under the hips for a gentle lift that makes the whole position sweeter.
Breathe slowly through the nose and let the feet and face go slack; the benefit is in the downshift.
