Common mistakes

  • You sit back fast and far, spiking the stretch instead of easing into it.

  • You let the heels of the hands peel off the mat, which unloads the stretch entirely.

  • You lock the elbows hard and hang on the wrist joints rather than the forearm muscles.

What to focus on

  • Keep every corner of the palm rooted and treat tiny weight shifts as full reps of stretch.

  • You should feel a pull along the underside of the forearm, not pain inside the wrist — back off if it moves into the joint.

  • Add a round with the palms up and fingers back to hit the other side of the forearm.
