How to perform it

Sit on the floor with your knees bent, holding a light dumbbell at your chest, and lean back until your core switches on. Feet stay down — or lift them for the harder version.

Rotate your torso to bring the weight down beside one hip, then rotate all the way across to the other side. Turn from the ribs, not the arms, and keep the pace smooth.
