Common mistakes

  • You swing the legs up with momentum and let the body pendulum between reps.

  • You lift the legs with the hip flexors only, never curling the pelvis so the abs barely work.

  • You drop the legs fast on the way down instead of resisting the descent.

What to focus on

  • Think about rolling your belt buckle up toward your ribs, not just lifting your feet.

  • Kill all swing by pausing a beat at the bottom of each rep.

  • If straight legs force you to swing, bend the knees and do the movement strictly instead.
