Common mistakes
You let the elbows drift apart and out as the set fatigues, turning the extension into a loose press.
You lower the dumbbells only halfway, stopping well above the head and skipping the stretch.
You move the whole upper arm back and forth to swing the weights up instead of extending at the elbow.
What to focus on
Keep the elbows pointing at the ceiling and no wider than your shoulders for the entire set.
Take advantage of the neutral grip to lower deep beside the head, feeling the triceps lengthen before you extend.
Lower slower than you lift; the dumbbells allow a deeper, safer stretch than a bar, so use it.
